Investing in Future Talent at HT2 Labs
At HT2 Labs, our vision is to change the way both businesses and individuals experience learning. We do this by developing new, innovative learning technologies; and we aim to be the R&D company for learning and performance.
Our first step towards this was to create Curatr, a Social Learning platform which has disrupted the LMS market. Our next step was to build – and then open source – Learning Locker a Learning Record Store; which is now the world’s most widely installed LRS in the world. The new kid on the block will be Red Panda a personal learning hub… and we won’t stop there!
To enable us to achieve our vision and to astonish our customers, we need great staff. And though we’re always looking to help our existing staff develop their skills and knowledge, we know that won’t be enough. We also need to recruit new people – and, for us, it is all about the right people with the right attitude. Being a good colleague is critical.
We believe that working for HT2 Labs is different. A place where you will grow. A place you will love coming to everyday. A place where you will be given responsibility from the get-go and where you will develop as you help us grow.
We want people who are passionate about technology; people who do interesting things with technology in their own time, just because they love doing so. So an interest in technology is the base, but we want more. We want people who can put themselves in the shoes of the customer and truly understand what they need.
We need experienced hires to lend their knowledge and expertise, but we’re also looking for the next generation of talent to help us keep pushing forward. If you’re an apprentice who wants to change the world through innovative learning and technology solutions – we want you!
At the minute, we’re specifically hiring for a Degree Apprenticeship Software Engineer.
As an apprentice, you’ll gain hands on work experience programming in the real world, using leading industry software stacks. At the same time you attend the Open University as a distance learning student studying for a sponsored degree in Software Engineering.
You will learn the ‘trade’ from the bottom-up and will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you gained straight away, maintaining and developing our industry-leading software services.
After a 4-year course you will not only have achieved a sought-after degree in Software Engineering, but will also have gained valuable work experience and will be well on your way in your new career (potentially with HT2 Labs).
“I’ve been at HT2 since my placement year at University. It’s great to work with colleagues and large companies that have a real passion for Software Engineering and enjoy sharing their years of expertise and experience. That is certainly something that you can’t get from University.” – Ryan Smith, Software Engineer – HT2 Labs
We are also offering a Level 4 NVQ Apprenticeship in Customer Service for an enthusiastic and self-motivated customer service professional.
Acting as our main customer service representative, you will be our internal champion of customer service. Comfortable using new technology/systems and a strong communicator (both verbally and written), you’ll also enjoy working with people and be able to empathise with customer viewpoints, ensuring our high customer service standards are met at all times.
Why do an Apprenticeship with HT2 Labs?
We could list numerous reasons why we think you should do your apprenticeship with us at HT2, but we thought you’d prefer to hear what one of our current Apprentices has to say about things instead…
“With HT2 Labs I found everything that I wanted (a great place to work, amazing people, and a culture of self-improvement), and more (dogs, cake, and a really cool view!) I was also supported in whatever way I needed to be during my induction and beyond.
“Since joining, I’ve shifted from a purely customer-facing role to a more technical one, with an eye on moving further in that direction in the future – I can’t imagine having that kind of flexibility in any other company.
“If you’re considering an apprenticeship here at HT2 Labs, go for it! As long as you’re passionate and the prospect of being able to take on genuine responsibilities within a fast-growing start-up slightly excites you, you’ll be fine!”
Having just received a sizable Series A investment from the City & Guilds Group’s New Venture Fund (set up to support technology-driven companies with the potential to make a significant impact in global skills and workforce development), there is no better time to join us!
